Quality programming for 3 and 4 year-old children. Priority given to children from Parkview and Valleyview communities, although all are welcome to apply.

Volunteer Executive Positions

President: Prepares for, organizes and chairs all meetings, playschool registration and the annual general meeting. Attends Community League Executive meetings, completes licensing renewal application and meets with Social Services, updates and distributes Parent's Handbook, arranges school pictures, supervises one toy clean-up per year, and submits all newsletter submissions.

Vice President: Purchases supplies and all major items for the classroom upon executive request, administers book club for Playschool, attends all meetings and fills in for the President in his/her absence, and supervises one toy clean-up per year.

Communications: Takes, types and distributes minutes, prepares any notices as required by teacher or Executive, prepares and collates the bi-annual parents survey and reports results to members.

Treasurer: Collects postdated cheques, issues receipts, maintains a synoptic ledger, deposits postdated cheques on a monthly basis, issues paycheques to playschool teacher, calculates and submits all source deductions, issues cheques to cover misc. expenses and reports on the financial position at each executive meeting.

Assistant Treasurer:  Assists Treasurer in performing duties and prepares to move into that role.

Registrar: Takes all registrations, handles late registrations, inquiries and waiting lists registrations, compiles class lists and keeps them updated, advises the roster coordinator, teacher, president, and executive of changes, organizes pre-registration and the official registration evening.

Assistant Registrar:  Assists Registrar in performing duties and prepares to move into that role.

Roster Coordinator: Creates monthly roster schedule and posts calendar on the bulletin board (schedules are distributed via the teacher), organizes the quarterly toy washes and reminds parents of their assigned date either by phone or letter. Arranges and books field trips, makes transportation arrangements if necessary, co- ordinates parent volunteers, and organizes for photographs to be taken.

Party Coordinators: Organizes (food and activities) and coordinates four class parties (Halloween, Christmas & Year-end) with the teacher, purchases required craft supplies or special items, and facilitates set up and clean-up.

Field Trip Coordinator: Arranges and books field trips, makes transportation arrangements if necessary, coordinates parent volunteers, and organizes for photographs to be taken.

Fundraising Coordinators: Organizes playschool fundraising events, collects deposit cheques or donations, ensures that all parents participate and phones parents prior to their commitment.
