Fall 2010

In our first tournament as an adult Women’s team we won Gold in the Ken Atterbury Memorial Tournament!
The Parkview Power U18 Girls Soccer Team has just come off an incredible
season! The girls are a young team and this was their first season in the
U18 division. They played at the highest level of a community team, with
only one loss all season to Grandview (2-1). The team won GOLD at the Polar
Cup at Christmas and GOLD at the Slush Cup in the Spring.
The team, for the fourth time, went to the Provincial Tournament. They
lost their second game of the season to a second year team from Sherwood
Park, who went on to win Gold. The last game of the season was played
against Grandview and Parkview Power won that game to take 5th overall in
the Province!! We were the top placed Edmonton Team and won the
prestigious Fair Play Award for the Provincial Tournament. Alberta Soccer
Association reiterated how significant the award was and that the Team and
Community should be very proud of a team that can win such a prestigious
award.
So, after 27 games played this past indoor soccer season, the Parkview Power
U18 Team had 20 wins, 5 ties and 2 losses, with goals for 82 and goals
against 31.
The girls are now preparing for a Spring Tournament on Salt Spring Island in
BC and are looking forward to the outdoor season.
