We are a non profit cooperative facility that provides programming for three and four year old children. The three year old program runs twice a week in the mornings and the four year old program is offered three times a week, either morning or afternoon program. The continued success of the playschool is dependent upon parental involvement. The executive is a board of volunteer parents with children currently in the program (look for openings on the registration night).
As a parent in the cooperative program, there are a number of expectations:
- Roster duty (approximately once every 14-16 classes)
- One toy wash per year
- Fundraising
- Participation in special events and or field trips
The goal of Parkview Playschool is to aid in your child(ren's) social, emotional, physical, intellectual and creative development. This is achieved through such classroom activities such as:
- Free time to play and share toys, puzzles and books etc.
- Story time and songs with and without actions
- Exercising to music with tapes and rhythm instruments
- Crafts, painting, colouring and cutting
- Show and share (on assigned days)
- Class parties for special holidays
- "Busy Bee" responsibilities
